 ALONG CAME JONES

Meet Our New U.K. Correspondent Before
She Figures Out What She's In For

We’re delighted to introduce Rhian Jones as our London correspondent. You may have noticed her byline in recent weeks on hitsdailydouble.com, and now that we’re relatively confident she’s not going to tell us to take this job and shove it (or the English equivalent) for the time being, we’re making it official.

Rhian spent three years learning the ins and outs of the music business at Music Week magazine, mostly recently in the position of news editor, before leaving to go freelance earlier this year. Along with her regular HITS gig, she writes a variety of features and news stories for Music Business Worldwide, The Independent, the Guardian, MusicAlly and other publications.

Why she would choose to add this disreputable publication to her resume is a mystery, but we’re glad she did.

It goes without saying that the best part of Rhian’s new gig is that she doesn’t have to come within 6,000 miles of the HITS cesspool or the dimwitted Yanks who work here.

“Who is this Rhian person, and why am I paying her?” asked HITS Editor in Chief Lenny Beer.

HITS Publisher Dennis Lavinthal was on vacation and unavailable for comment.
